Just a quick hello

Postby Sillumjai on Wed May 27, 2009 3:06 am

Just a quick hello to all you fellow enthusiasts out there.

Weapon of choice is a Nikon D80 + 50mm 1.8. I have only been getting into photography as of late last year. Have taken lots of shots in the first few months, and now with the weather getting a bit chillier, I will finally have some time to sort through them all

Looking forward to learning some tips and trick form the more seasoned pros out there  .

Great, and welcome.

A good way to learn will be to start to post some of your images here for review.

Welcome aboard!

I look forward to seeing some of your work. The D80 + 50 1.8 makes a very nice combination and I have to say that some of my best event work was done with this setup (+ SB-400) as no one gets scared off by it.

Hi Sillumjai!

You'll find everyone is quite friendly and helpful on this forum. I'm new here myself but quite enjoy the atmosphere here. There's so much to learn with photography, it is awesome to have places you can ask questions!

Look forward to seeing your photos!

My goodness. You are starting with a pretty good lens. You might not be impressed with your next lens purchase (unless you choose carefully and dig DEEP)

Welcome to the forum.

I know what you mean, the 50mm sets a pretty high standard when it comes to sharpness.

Next lens is a 24mm 2.8, for when i need a slightly wider angle of view. Will post some shots up once i find something worth uploading

Organ pipes national park is on the calder freeway opposite calder park raceway.
It's a big park and a good walk around, but theres sum really strange rock formations that stand out.

Hello Sillumjai!

Welcome on board! Yes - you start with very creative configuration - 50mm is lovely lens not only for portraits.
I wish you all the best and I will be waiting for your photos on the forum.
I'm recently comeback to my photographic passion - after almost one year break (I have to build my house move my family etc. = zero spare time for photography), so I again share with you this "newbi" photo excitement :)
Regards:
