I'm so JEALOUS JEALOUS JEALOUS! if the D700 goes substantially below $3k anytime soon I'll jump on it! Great links Matthew - only things is you've just fanned the embers for buying more gear! I had convinced myself I didn't need the gear and just about convinced myself I didn't want the gear... yikes! Val

Re: D700 ISO Speed TestTo be honest, I expected ISO 1600 to be better than what is shown. If you go to the original image at 1600 and scroll down to the bottom left, the grain is quite noticeable. It is still better than the D300, but not significantly.
