FE Roadtrip

After almost 5 months, the images have been developed, scanned and posted. Below are thumbnails to larger images. I have noted the usernames of the photographer, however, there are about 9 or so still be confirmed. I can edit the post as this information becomes available - but I know many people are keen to see the results.

What a great variety of subjects, this was an excellent exercise. I must add that Craig VTR who had the camera after I did (and there is no image showing) looks to have had some sort of problem with the film advance because the bottom of the image I took looks to be a double exposure.

Thanks for getting these up so soon Patrick. Some great images here. And the variety is instructive. Any one who says the camera takes the photo should be pointed to this series.

Nope. Sublime Point at Leura,behind the golf course; but I was more interested in the clouds (& their shadows!) I wish I'd remembered I couldn't correct the tilt in post & paid more attention to getting the camera level.

Can someone enlighten my as to the origin of the white lines in some photos? Light leakage during phototaking?

There is some fogging evident in a few of the images. Patrick suggests that this may be due to a minor issue with the felt on the film can, and I'm inclined to accept this suggestion.

Nope. Sublime Point at Leura,behind the golf course;

I know the spot quite well - about a 20 min walk from the Fairmont. I was almost blown off there last July at a time when it was very, very windy. My tripod kept being blown over. Fortunately, I had my Goretex(R) jacket and gloves on to shield some of the wind.

My bet is the Lennox bridge at Lapstone (? - not sure of ther geographic borders hereabouts) on the old road up from Penrith.

Lennox Bridge is the oldest bridge on mainland Australia, it is situated on Mitchell’s Pass in the Blue Mountains NSW Australia. David Lennox and 20 convicts built this bridge in 1833. Its unique design was well ahead of its time with the western side being straight and the eastern side having a graceful curve.

I agree Cameron. It would be great to do this again. Not sure if Patrick wants to go through the pain again though.

Correct, although it is in Glenbrook, not Lapstone. As far as I am aware, Lapstone is entirely on the southern side of the GWH.

Correct, and pretty much only accessible by road via Governor's Drive, if I recall correctly. Nice area.

I stuffed my shot on a camera malfunction, it appeared the shutter did not close, but on having a closer look at Oneputts shot he may be right about the double exposure issue.
I will go and bang my head against the wall a few more times.

I did take the d300 out as well to record the scene in colour so here is a b&w conversion with no other pp except for a sharpen.

I am not sure about you, but I thought $450 for a F100 (Excellent cond) at ECS was a pretty good price, but then again I am not sure.

Keh.com (American site) has F100 + MB-15 US $339 for Exc+ condition so I would not want to pay more than that!

We're all friends here, so happy to do mate's rates. Plus it may cover the stamp duty on a Crows Nest pad.

Seriously, don't forget the F90x - with the MB-10 grip, it is a great camera that can be found relatively cheaply - you would be looking at sub-$200 for the combo.

Failing that, get the F6! (Or the F2AS, for that matter).
