Cliched water drops....Something to do on a cold day. Bit of fun.
1. 2. 3. D80, 50mm F/1.8, 18-70mm DX, Sigma 10-20mm
Re: Cliched water drops....The perfect symmetry of 3 gives it a very tranquil (dare I say balanced?) feel, especially with the calm green colour. Nice work.

Re: Cliched water drops....Whoa!!! nice work Whitey!
Good timing with the shots, love the last one with that droplet looking like a perfect globe balanced on the tip of a mountain. Would that have been on the bounce back of the droplet? The colours do add alot to the pictures too, did you photoshop or use some type of backdrop/reflective surface? Val
Nikon D300
Re: Cliched water drops....
Thanks
Not really, I took about 200 shots in 10 minutes.
yeah I think its the rebound.
Just bounced a SB600 off a flourescent yellow and pink sheet of A4 paper. Tutorial is over here http://strobist.blogspot.com/2009/05/ho ... h-one.html . Worth doing as for a noob like me you get a good understanding of the relationship between flash power, aperture and shutter speed. D80, 50mm F/1.8, 18-70mm DX, Sigma 10-20mm

Re: Cliched water drops....Great job! #2 is my favourite. The rippled reflection gives it the edge.
I just went through the Strobist tutorial myself and I agree, it's a handy resource. Got me using manual flash for the first time. Now to get through the rest of them...... Dan

Re: Cliched water drops....great shots - I'm going to have to have a go at this sooner or later
And 4 degrees sounds like complete heaven - it was minus 3 here yesterday morning, 2 this morning .. and I have to get up at 3 am tomorrow to go to work ... but it is supposed to be a barmy and warm 5 degrees - not looking forward to it either LOL Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams
