Detail Added - Cat & Lens Lovers OnlyNot wanting to bore you with another cat image, but rather to illustrate the sharpness of the 85mm f1.8 now that I'm starting to get the hang of it. Hope that comes through in this reduced and compressed image. The original image is simply amazing! (I've added a detail of 600 x 600 pixels from the original. That should be a little better for evaluation purposes.) The f1.4 version of this lens at 3X the price is probably so good it would require me to change my pants.
No buyer's remorse for me. Cheers. Last edited by SoCal Steve on Tue Mar 01, 2005 4:28 pm, edited 3 times in total.
Nice shot SoCal Steve,
How the hell did you get him or her to stay still long enough My daughters bad enough, I'm lucky to get a sharp 1 out of about 10 Obviously your Pussy is well trained and my Daughter isn't. Hmmmmm Mic.
Keep your pants on Steve, that shot is a winner.
While the sharpness of the lens is noted, the softness of the cat is conveyed beautifully. Nice work. Greg - - - - D200 etc

Socal, are you sure the cat is alive or stuffed? I've never seen a cat keep still for anything. Excellently clear shot though, now to try the same on my beloved daschunds...Max

Awesome - I give this one 10 purrs out of a maximium of 10 Max - guess your love of lenses is greater than your hatred of cats Peter

Steve, BTW: nice shots.
This is a repeated question, but how did you get the cat to stay still while you took these shots . Cheerio, fozzie
When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
Today was my very first experience with continuous auto focus and continuous shooting. I filled up a 512mb card pretty quick on the dog and the cat, but it ensures a few good images along the way. I just love this camera!
SnowBoots was fixated on a barking beagle in the next yard about 12 meters away. I'm not sure about her lineage, but our young neighbor girl brought her to us as a little kitten about three years ago. She couldn't keep her because her mother is allergic, but hoped we could because she was so adorable. We agreed and kept her. BTW N70 w/ 70mm-210mm f4-5.6 in the picture, taken with a Coolpix 5000.
