Negative scanning services in Brisbane

Postby surenj on Thu Jun 25, 2009 1:06 pm

Hi all,

I am looking for a negative scanning service in Brisbane. I have a friend who needs to scan about 500 or so negatives (some will be duds) of old memories etc.

Does anyone have a cost effective service you could recommend?

Thanks

Suren

Cameron is right - 500 photos, even at low res, would cost $150-200 assuming they all exist as uncut, 36 exposure rolls. If they are all single negs/trannies, the cost will increase dramatically (by multiples). Again, for low res.

Cost of time aside, your friend could buy a scanner, go through the process over time and then sell the scanner to recoup some of the capital. Even an Epson V700 could come out more cost effective this way. Or an Imacon!
