PotW 7 July 2009One of the more pleasurable, but challenging tasks I have to undertake has come my way again. There were a number of fine images that caught my eye in the last week, but I kept coming back to the images in THIS post by DebT. My problem was that I coudln't decide which of the images was "the one" that I'd choose as Picture of the Week. Eventually I decided that, as Deb suggests in her post, these 3 images belong together so this week it's three pictures of the week. Congratulations Deb.
So why these images? They're sharp, well exposed and the eye contact engages the viewer. Better, the angle of the shot gives a strong feel the hippo is coming straight at us. My only niggle is I'd have liked them a touch wider (so go back and try again Deb ) On the plus side the tight crop means we can pretend the subject is in the wild rather than captive in a zoo. Peter
