POTW this week is one from a series that has been posted over a couple of weeks. Colin_12 has been working on macro photography, in particular the capture of wild fungi. Some of the results have been very impressive, with quite startling colour from some of the species. He is also experimenting with his lighting technique, trying to perfect the use of flash for these images. It's great to see a work in progress. The image that I have chosen is this one: And the original thread can be found here. Congratulations to colin_12.

Excellent choice Trevor.
The colours, the lighting, and the capture of the fungi's texture are all a testament to how well Colin is doing with these images.
Great work, Colin.

Congratulations. It is an interesting and colourful plant, but poisonous. It is also the type of photo in which the subject grabs your attention.

Yep, a deserving winner. DOF is superb and the lighting is perfect. Do mushrooms really come with coconut sprinkles?
