Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Went to Orange over the weekend to visit my sister and we were meant to head to the japanese gardens in Dubbo after the Zoo but by the time we got there it was closed  But here are two photos I took outside. I went a little crazy with the colours I quite like it but no sure if its overdone. Would love comments and criticisms

Hi, Number two got an immediate smile from me. It's fun and energetic. I have no real idea if technically it's 'good' in any official way, I just think it's really well put together, bright and lots of fun

I have a good friend who is brewing and selling his own beer in the Orange area called 'Volcano.' Lots of the local restaurants are stocking it- you should give it a try when you're next out that way.

Well done

nice shots mozzie, I really like the second, great concept with nice lines and very nice light. Two things that spring to mind when looking at it, the first, I think getting the 'jumper' a bit closer and filling the frame more would help and second, getting down lower to the ground to take the shot. Nonetheless, very nice and I reckon its a good candidate for the toyota ad!

The warm colouring makes the images feel like it is hot and dry.
I bet Orange was anything but hot and dry, nicely done.
The second got a smile from me as well. A fun kind of image.

I'm thinking that for the first image, a square crop may be worth consideration. Working from the bottom, crop just above the lower of the shadows crossing the roadway. Now go towards the top and crop square.

The excellent image and (good) beer lends itself to an interesting idea. Perhaps you could make that image the label for the beer?

Seriously, love the colours, symmetry and processing... Great stuff.

Might I suggest a couple of small further enhancements?

Firstly clone out the foreground shadow along the ground.
Secondly and somewhat easier... clone out the small piece of branch and leaf in the foreground left.
