Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

Good morning all, remember me Wow, what a week to do POTW! I did my usual technique of making a shortlist file of images to consider... usually this ends up as one or two I really like... Today there were 6! Here are a few of them: Fantastic sea scape, love the "texture" on the water viewtopic.php?f=18&t=36975An awesome panorama, viewtopic.php?f=18&t=36996 Very nice light, very well shot and stitched. Love the last BW baby shot in this sequence: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=36992Straight out of top gun: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=36981 Brilliant composition (and PP) with the helicopter in the background... Now these three images share something in common, there is an uncontrollable element, be it atmospheric lighting in the first two and a possibly uncooperative subject in the last... So I am going to buck my usual trend of liking "natural" photos and go for a totally "set up" shot.. and I to found it amusing! So congrats to Rooz for his image "Fillmore's dirty secret" viewtopic.php?f=18&t=36973 Love the lighting, love the set up... and it must have been hard to get that smoke just right... Very nicely done! The best thing about POTW is it makes me want to go out and take more pictures... now that HAS to be a good thing!

Classic Rooszy, exceptional colours, but then again, that's the 60s for you. Psycho colours. Congrats on POTW.
