Lake Tahoe Pano...autostitch help

Here is my vacation project. Taken with 70-200, 70mm, A mode, f2.8, 36?shots in all. The original is 72 inches long...I wont post that here though.

anyone know about the 2 line caused by autostitch??

not sure about the two lines...

have you tried doing the stitch with panorama factory and comparing the results? i've always had good stitching with pf.

I am glad that I upgraded my 'ADSL' from 256 to 512Kbites/sec on Monday of the this week, as the large version took sometime to open up.

Magic - what else can I say The lines should be easy enough to get rid of with the healing brush tool in PS. How they got there, I have no idea

As for the lines, had a think about it earlier. How much of the shots were overlapping? It's recommended that 1/3 of the shot overlaps onto the next shot. Maybe after horizon correction, lens distortion and so forth there was a small gap that was left between two shots?

Awsome Pano... Brought back some memories of a trip I did 15+ years ago...

I've had a few strange results like that with autostitch, but don't know the cause... Try stitching half of the photos together, then the other half, then stitch the two parts together... this can sometimes deliver different results to stitching all the photos together...

Probably also worthwhile e-mailing the authors of autostitch, so that they can investigate and use it to perfect their almost perfect product...

Yes, because I save $10 per month, although change over fee was $20.
I reduced capacity from 16000 to 2000MB per month, as I was not using anywhere near it, but doubled speed:works for me. First year saving of $100 for some form of 'LUST'.

Thanks all, I will try PF and retry autostitch. I was careful to overlap by at least 1/3 but closer to 1/2. What amazed me from that view is there is hardly any evidence mankind...taken from the North shore facing southwest.

Yeah I sort of worked it all out Fozzie but I like my 1500. I'm an impatient man when it comes to downloading things so I enjoy 150k/sec when I can get it.

Plus I like to play online games so having a decent upstream bandwidth is handy. The only other option I'd consider to 1500/256 is 512/512 or if my ISP adds a dslam to my exchange one of the faster options such as 8000 or 12000 I think they're now offering.

I've used Autostich a few times and haven't seen any of the two vertical "white" lines in the example... Out of curiosity, are they within the overlap of images?

You could try different settings on the multi-band blending maybe?
