So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Flower Macros
Bix Pix recent macros inspired me to hit the garden this morning to get some shots of the Bird of Paradise, something I have been going to do for the last twelve months. Thanks Bernie for the motivation.
Here are a couple. These were shot through dappled light this morning with higher iso to try and get some dof, then a breeze started blowing. aaarrrrrh. Give me some feedback especially on the noise. #3 is as good a flower image as i have seen anywhere, anytime. the composition is original and the colours are spectacular. well done mate, you should be very proud of that.

If you want to reduce the noise, especially wth darker backgrounds, the blur tool in ps or other software works a treat. Regards Colin

A very nice series of images! The third one is a favorite for me, this would be ideal laminated and used as a bookmark! the image, I think, really would lend itself to this kind of application.

I like them all.
The first one suffers from a little too much contrast. The composition of the second one is fantastic but the image suffers from the noise as you mentioned. I especially like the 3rd one and agree it would make a great bookmark. For me, the 4th is the weakest of them. I find the large unsharp areas a bit distracting.
