New member saying hi! (and a question about cashback)

Postby Eunosdriver on Wed Mar 02, 2005 9:22 pm

Hi all - just stumbled across this forum while searching for pearls of wisdom about my new toy.
All I need to do now is sell my F90x + some other bits on Ebay and I'll have just about paid for the camera 8)

Except: I think I must have broken a mirror a few years ago; I bought the camera yesterday at Costco for £693 inc. vat (with 18mm zoom). Best price I could find, quite chuffed. Got home, and charged the battery while I stated on the manual. Once I'd played a bit, I went to download the £100 cashback form, and read I needed to snip off the corner of the quick-start guide. Which wasn't in the box. Agghhh! Now waiting for a call back from a manager at Costco to see what they're going to do.

I was 1/2 way through the registration process, IE had already entered all the camera information inc. serial number on the website. If, as I suspect, Costco want to take back the whole lot and give me a new (hopefully complete this time) camera, am I going to face problems with getting my rebate if I try to register a camera with a different seial number ?

Sigh. Nothing in life is easy, as the hedgehog said to his girfriend.

Sell the Eunos!

Sorry, welcome Eunosdriver. Hope your stay is long and fruitful.

My claim's been in 7 weeks and still no cheque.

Look forward to seeing some photo's.

cheers

"cough, splutter!" - sell the Eunos ? (MX-5 / Miata to the un-initiated); wash your mouth out!

It may be a while before I feel like posting any pics, my Photography muscles (note capital 'P') need beefing up again after a year of digital compacts - F90 staying locked in it's case. I've ended up with a Fuji F700, thinking I'd be happy to use the a/s/m modes for some 'proper' photography, but it's rarely off auto. Hanging onto that one though, as it's a nice pocket size.

Welcome Pete - get some pics into the forum ASAP especially of St Albans. I went there years ago in my mod days (mods and rockers) back in the 60’s

Hey Chris, I know another Mod from that whole Mod / Rockers thing. He's a really great guitarist, too. Went to one of those Mod / Rockers concerts last year... it was great!

Welcome Peter. Don't pay any attention to the people telling you to sell that Eunos. I still like the Miata. It's not as good as the Smart Roadster, but it's still cool. :)
