Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

I sometimes find it difficult to select 'PotW', but on this occasion Bob G made the task very easy. It is amazing sometimes when you go out to shoot something, and for one reason or another it evaporates, but surprisingly something else happens. Point in question, is this magnificent shot of a Rainbow Lorikeet: colours, sharpness together with great post processing to add to the finished product. So congratulations goes to Bob G this week. WOW! Just logged in and thought " that pic looks familiar"
Oh shite! - it is mine lol
Thanks guys - wasn't a lot of PP work on this - the sky was naturally blown out because of the exposure needed to capture the bird.
Thanks for the nice comments.

WOW - this is fabulous, and so sharp! I'm guessing with that lens length you must have been a fair way away from the bird? Yet it's so clear. Well done!
