Spitfeuer!!!!!I was incredibly lucky recently and was able to organise a shoot with one of Australias two flying spitfires, both at the Temora Air Museum. The staff were great, and assisted me, MattyO and Michael_ a huge amount.
The shoot was for the Australian Kidney Foundation, and featured the highest fundraisers of the Kidney Kar Rally, which this year raised over $500,000. The aircraft is worth about $4,000,000 1. Old Warrior at sunset 2. At the going down of the sun.... 3. Me, hamming it up in the cockpit. I was nervous as hell climbing into it! 4. Our basic setup. 2 Alien Bees and a ringlight, MAttyO up a cherry picker, lights powered by inverter from a deep cycle battery. THe final image requires PP to remove shadows, which were impossible to avoid to to major timing constraints. All in all though, a very successful shoot. (forgive my shadow, shot is just to show you the setup). 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Re: Spitfeuer!!!!!Would love to see the final photos PP.
I was lucky enough to be at the last F1 GP in Adelaide, one of the days was on the 11/11 and just befoe 11am they asked the rowdy, alcohol fueled racegoers via the PA to observe a minutes silence in rememberance on the hour. On the hour a ghostly hush came over the crowd and the only sound to be heard was a solo flyover by a Spitfire, the exhaust note is to anyone that has ever heard it evocative of so many emotions, it left the crowd moved and humbled, a truly special moment that will live with me forever! Cheers Rob
Re: Spitfeuer!!!!!ohh that first one is nice , i personally would have picked a slightly different angle, but i am just being picky
Temora Aviation Museum is great, its great to see people with some serious dough putting it towards something great like keeping these beasts in the air. Any chance of getting a sneak preview of the shot? (I understand if you cant due to paid commitments etc...) would be interested in seeing the results of that lighting setup. gerry's photography journey

Re: Spitfeuer!!!!!Alan,
Nice work. For the third, I'd suggest a crop, just around the dude in the cockpit, along the the writing just below it. g.
