Forum rulesPlease note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I thought that this brought a whole new element to chimping, even though not a chinp. Give me a look.... Not the best technique, but better than some I suppose Gets the hang of it faster than most as well The keeper was taking a load of happy snaps and was quite happy to let this little fellow have a go.......while keeping a very firm hold on her gear. Great shots, Colin.
For some reason they don't look all that sharp. Maybe it is grain, which surprises me for ISO 1000 on a D700.

Maybe it's slightly out of focus? Or maybe the 1000 point focus of the D700 is monkeying around?

Hello all, Yes they are not well focused I was waving around the 70 - 300 Sigma on this occasion. I did not have any sort of pod as a child plus gear is enough to carry. It is also a crop at pretty close to actual size so the grain really shows up with a bit of sharpening. Glad you all got the laugh I did, .........Maybe that also gave some camera shake?
