Sydney on an Acid Trip

thanks to a good mate Jeff for processing this. i would never have pushed this hard in post and i love the result he came up with. turned my very mundane ordinary shot into something i really like. would be interested to hear you're thoughts on this processing.

I really like the effect on the clouds in the first image but the brickworkis a little distracting because of the purpling effect in some spots. If that could be pulled back a little I think th eimage would be stronger. The second I am afraid does nothing for me as there is not enough contrast, I would actually like to see the colour version of that.

I don't like the purple bits and haloing in the first. Maybe you could convert the HDR (without halos) in to high contrast black and white??

Love the first one Rooz but agree, the purple on the bricks is distracting.
I also reckon a crop of some of the sky would make a more powerful image.

You should put a warning on this one, "do not look at it when drunk or high" the B/W really made a difference it looks much better, but is a little to busy for me in small. The sky sure does take the eye away from the building, I think it would look nice on a very large print.

Wow, I'm glad you were encouraged to push these that hard, as they are very cool. I'm not sure which would be my favourite. The last screams "print large and hang in gallery" to me, but I really like the bird in flight, something "special" about it. Is it a full black and white, as its looks blueish on my screen at work.

i might print the cloud one out on an A3 and see what happens. the guy that did the conversion prefers the colour; i prefer the mono. regardless, a reshoot of that place is whats needed cos it wasn't that great a shot to begin with but you're right in that pushing the PP boundaries is something i haven't even come close to taking advantage of. yet more to learn...
