Posterised shotThis is a shot I took in the Hunter Valley last weekend on an overcast afternoon. The original shot was relatively flat so I decided to give it a kick along with a bit of posterisation. What do you think?

Re: Posterised shotWhat's the processing involved in this posterising business?
My eye is still drawn to the drab sky..wonder what will happen if you add a few subtle streaky clouds...
Re: Posterised shotI think it could use more aggressive posterisation, and I like surenj's suggestion
of some clouds being added. Greg - - - - D200 etc

Re: Posterised shotBig Pix this is the cropped version for comparison as you suggested. What do you think?
Surenj, these shots were done using the poster edges filter in CS3. I applied the filter twice. D700, 50 1.8, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200VR, 80-400VR, SB800 plus a lot of gadgets
Re: Posterised shotThe partially chopped umbrella is distracting for me, otherwise I'm not sure what posterisation means.

Re: Posterised shotIt's amazing sometimes what difference can make. The crop makes your shot really jump out. I'm usre I've been to this place some time in my travels brickwork and vines just look too familiar.
Re: Posterised shot....... much better.... the image has come to life

Re: Posterised shotbig pix, GREAT idea with the crop! Much much better. Forget the sky and concentrate on the subject.
I am getting the hang of this posterisation business...looks cartoony.
Re: Posterised shotThanks big pix, i like it better than the original also.
Ian, the shots were taken in the little shopping village outside Hunter Valley Gardens. Heres another one from the same spot. D700, 50 1.8, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200VR, 80-400VR, SB800 plus a lot of gadgets
