Lightroom: How to move directories and keep the catalogUnfortunately I have not organised the physical directories very well. I need to move several directories with raw files (which lightroom keeps track of) in to a more organised single directory.
Does anyone know what I need to do to sync the new locations of my files with lightroom so that all the raq adjustments are carried forward?

Re: Lightroom: How to move directories and keep the catalogIf you move a folder (or tree of folders) around on the disk outside LR, you can right-click on the missing folder in LR's Folders tree and use "Find Missing Folder" to re-locate it.
If you've moved a bunch of files from one folder to another, when you get back to LR they'll have '?' in the corner of the grid cells. Click on that and when telling it where the file moved to, make sure the "Find Nearby Missing Files" is selected, and it will sort out all the other missing files in that new folder at the same time. If you've renamed files, you'll have to fix up each file one by one. Instead of all that, if you move the files inside LR (e.g. by dragging folders around in the Folders tree, or dragging a bunch of files from one folder to another) it will move them on disk and keep track of where they went! Does that help?
Re: Lightroom: How to move directories and keep the catalogi just do all the moves within the program itself. I have done a lot of this since I have had LR.
you can create new folders in the library view - then select the files in the grid view and just drag them into a new folder. everything moves - edits and all. Laurie
