Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Re: Fremantle SunsetNice and simple, but I like the colours and depth of field.
Re: Fremantle SunsetWhile the technical aspects are excellent (control of flare etc), I feel that this image is lacking something. perhaps it's the reflections on the water, I am not sure.
Re: Fremantle Sunset
........ do you get reflections on the water when the sun is below the horizion....... lucky to even get any colour in the water.......... would like to see a few of your sunsets Cheers ....bp....

Re: Fremantle SunsetBig Pix, did you use a graduated filter to take this picture?
Re: Fremantle SunsetI also like the simplicity, but feel there is too much in the middle between the horizon and the waves/beach in the foreground. I appreciate there isn't a lot you can do about it, but my opinion nevertheless.

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug

Re: Fremantle SunsetI think a tighter crop with the sun as the main subject would be the way to go, there probably is not a great deal detail to recover from the shadows so working on the sun would be the best way.
that there sound like fightin' words! gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
