Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Soccer seasons end

With the Grand Finals last weekend, another season has come and gone.
A few shots from over the last couple of months in the Namoi Soccer League

Striker taken down by the keeper. Moree, August 09

Image

Defender tries in vain to block a shot from the striker. Yes, the shot found the net. Gunnedah Aug. 09

Winners are grinners. And very wet. I had to get in & out quick to avoid getting sprayed with beer & champers myself.
Moree last weekend. White jerseys made things difficult all afternoon on a very warm day. 24mm F6.3 1/250 fill flash

These really do capture the action....I really like the first two as they really put you out there on the field. You have done really well to capture the moment with these.

What sort of focal lengths were you using?

Both were at less than 100mm. 24-105 F4L only. I sold my long glass a couple of years ago when I moved to the north west and do only a fraction of the sport i did in the past. I only do it now to help out the local league, but obviously still enjoy it. I don't chase the shots but wait for them to come to me, in and around the 18 yrd box.

Proves to show that you can get good shots without bazooka lenses!
