Re: Cracked perceptionGreat series, for me the 3rd shot if the weakest, yet shows the most about of detail. I think the others by leaving something to the imagination are stronger overall. I can see it becoming an expensive hobby, if they become a long running series, with different brands / models etc.
Re: Cracked perception (C&C Welcome)Not even! It only cost me $5 from Vinnies. It will be hard to find more 2nd hand cameras for that cheap that come with filters though. Here is how it ended up at the end of the day...
I will see if I have any other photos that might show a bit more detail... Canon 30D, Canon 17-55 f/2.8,Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS, Canon 50mm f/1.8, 580exII

And the filter is probably worth more than the camera. Nice concept, and well executed. g.

Re: Cracked perception (C&C Welcome)2nd is a cracker indeed.
Is this lit by flash or natural light? It's hard to tell!
Re: Cracked perception (C&C Welcome)Thats a very nice series, great concept too - I am really taken to the gravel background and composition in the first, this image is the strongest in my opinion, I really like how this image protrays a story, the broken lens and the contrasting working flash (or reflection) and teh lenscap nearby....
nice work gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Cracked perception (C&C Welcome)All of the shots were taken using available light. I might try using off camera flash next time so that i can control the light and where I want it to hit. I want to do more of these so yeh hopefully there will be a series. Love shoots that happen on the fly where you didn't have the intention of shooting it in the first place... we were originally looking for a book shelf for a mate...
