I like the (almost) symmetry and there is just enough light in the shadows to give some detail. The people in the shadows looking out on the beach position the viewer of the photo in the scene with them. I found I spent a fair bit of time just soaking the scene in, as though I was there

I could take the other view and point out a whole heap of negatives (I'm sure they're there if I look hard enough) but, to me at least, this photo isn't supposed to be 'technically perfect' - it's a spring day at the beach, it's all about the feeling, the contrast of light and shade, the change of seasons, that joy of the first warm day after a long winter. [Have I gone too far here? ]

Wow! What a great image with multiple interesting elements all coming together...

I would clone out that metal rail in the middle but would be nitpicking...

I think the colour of the sky and there's no pesky clouds to spoil the symmetry really helps to make this image cool.

I think it's one of those images where it has both poor elements and good elements but the overall feel is that it is a great image. There is so much happening in it and plenty of things to analyse and have a closer look at that it could take the viewer some time to see all that it has to offer.

I like it and I think that is all that matters.
