Jounama Station - Snowy MountianJounama Station - Snowy Mountian
This is an old homestead between Abercrombie Caves and Mt Selwyn. A quick light paint of building and tree A fifteen minute time lapse with a light paint as well. Not sure about this with the large amount of dark in the bottom left. Use an led torch on the building and a dolphin torch on the tree. A light paint if some chimneys and rooms A fifteen minute time lapse with a light paint as well I found you can only get 4 15 minute shots to a bottle of port! whizzzz, there goes life again.....

Re: Jounama Station - Snowy Mountianwow, that first one sent shivers down my spine! great image for a quality horror/spook movie!
I do like the star trail images very nice, the final one could be improved by removing some of teh distortion in the building which threw me off a bit at first...maybe even just using the chimney as the primary vertical line? gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Jounama Station - Snowy MountianThe star trails in the last image are great, they really add to the mystique of the image, but i would straighten out that chimmny as Gerry has mentioned. The first image has a great feel to it, an eerie-ness, and as a series these photos are work well. Great stuff!

Re: Jounama Station - Snowy MountianDamn, this is so cool. One of these days I've got to try light painting myself. I'll probably trip over the tripod trying to find my way back to the camera...
Don't you hate that? Photography is full of technical limitations... Cheers Steffen. lust for comfort suffocates the soul
Re: Jounama Station - Snowy MountianThat last one looks fantastic. Although I agree with the others above me, it could do with straightening, but what a great image to start off with. Love it...

Re: Jounama Station - Snowy MountianI have straightened the shot with the chimney vertical on this shot.
It just loses something for me, i do not like the left side with the building cut off and the wall here not vertical. What do you think. I should also point out that the bottle of port for the four shots was between two people, and that when your out in the cold of the Snowies doing this, you really need one each just to keep warm!!!! (that could also explain why the shot was not too straight?) whizzzz, there goes life again.....

Re: Jounama Station - Snowy MountianSDT - Jounama Homestead
ok played in photoshop and used lense distortion to straighten chimney and wall. looks better, but lost some of the best star trails from the top left. I still like it best though! What I did in photoshop CS4, go to Filter / Distort / Lense correction, then rotated the shot 3.5 degrees (ie till cimney was straight) and adjusted the vertical perspective to -22. Then adjusted "edge" to edge extension (Filled out the black bottom that tapered in), This looks better, should have done this first Also, when printed A3 (thanks work!) the first one looks magic and mystic! whizzzz, there goes life again.....

Re: Jounama Station - Snowy MountianI like the final rework, having that key subject (building) correctly lined up makes a world of difference in my opinion. Thanks for following up with the explanation on the photochop steps...

Re: Jounama Station - Snowy MountianThat last rework is magic. I would be very happy to print that.
