Ski Touring - Snowy MountainsA few shots from ski trip in late September at Kosciuszko National Park:
Low cloud around the Sentinel Afternoon cloud over the main range. Afternoon light on the western faces. Mark skiing back up the hill after a nice run in spring snow.
Re: Ski Touring - Snowy MountainsWow! you are lucky to experience this sort of tranquility. Kudos for carring a 5D while you were skiing!
The exposures and the dynamic range is brilliant! I like the second the most but the composition of these leave me wanting to see more foreground or more background.
Re: Ski Touring - Snowy MountainsFantastic. At first I thought it was NZ. I really like the last one. The perspective is neat.

Re: Ski Touring - Snowy MountainsThanks for the feedback. Surenj - having another look i can see what you mean about my cropping (or overcropping) of photos. Cheers.
It's definitely a great part of Australia, and only 5hr drive from Sydney. Still plenty of snow down there at the moment also and easy access to the Main Range from Charlotte Pass. A few more from that trip here if anyone is interested: http://www.ozbc.net/tr_mr300909.html
Re: Ski Touring - Snowy MountainsI do like the pano style crops here, it would be nice to see some more on each side of the images, but hey, can't have everything!
I have had a look thru you trip shots, looks like an awesome time, a bit cold, but still awesome. I quite like the creek cross one and the two with damien at Carruthers Peak with the skyline. I was down that way this year for my first snowboard and i can definitely see myself getting down there again next year. Probably have to learn how to ski first tho before doing any of this back country stuff... gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Ski Touring - Snowy MountainsMust be nice to be on top of the world like that
