Lightpainted BikeWas impressed with Wink's work on his mates lightpainted Holden so I thought i'd try it out. I got very average results on my car, but it's a piece of junk. So I had a go at it on my bike.
The toughest part of this was removing the chair I used to prop it up. You can notice the spokes on the rear wheel are a little wack. Think i'll try something else to stand it up next time. Does anyone have any suggestions on the sky? It probably needs a little bit of work. C&C would be appreciated!
Re: Lightpainted BikeNicely done!
I would select the sky and change the hue to either a dark red or a dark blue as this will contrast the green. You might be able to use a rope to tie the bike from two sides to prop it up. Less PP that way.
Re: Lightpainted BikeLooks very good
Can you tell us your set up and exif please. Many thanks Steve Steve (Nikon D200/D700)

Re: Lightpainted BikeLooks good!
I try to take the shots so the sky is blocked out by something, a building, land mass etc. I'm keen to try a Harley. I think all the chrome parts could make for a challenge.
Re: Lightpainted BikeI like it, and I think the sky in the deep red works, keeps the image interesting, if you go to a blue sky (a DARK blue) it becomes a bit too ordinary. Try it and see what you think. i would also suggest bringing in a bit more red out of the sky

Re: Lightpainted Bike
Thanks surenj - I'll have a crack at going dark red / blue and see how it goes. I was heading towards the red but maybe a completely different colour might be a good look. I also trialled a broom setup that seems to work
Re: Lightpainted Bike
Thanks - using a reasonably powerful maglite with a white sock on the end to diffuse. At work, so these are what I remember. 28mm 30 seconds f11
Re: Lightpainted BikeI had a quick go at blacking out all the background...
Hope you don't mind.
