I have not posted anything for a while ... Winter was pretty lean in terms of photography for me, but hopefully with the weather getting better, that will change.

Had a couple of nights of lightning storms, so I had to go and try to capture some.

There is a fair bit of noise (blue noise) in the last two....did you turn off your noise reduction?

I quite like the effect achieved in the first...if only there was more lightening. Great efforts

Thanks for your comments aim54x.

I was using bulb as the shutter speed, and triggering shutter (on and off) with infrared remote. I would open the shutter and then wait for a decent burst of lightning, before closing it again. The last 2 were considerably shorter exposures than the first. The last 2 exposures were 15 and 11 seconds. The first shot was 70 seconds.

I think the noise you are seeing is that they are underexposed (apart from the bright white bit :) ), and I boosted the exposure in post on these 2.
