B&W or ColourOMG, Its been such a l o n g time since I was around these parts, a lot has been going on of late and time has been scarce with being made redundant, trying to find another job and then deciding to start up my own business instead.
Here is a recent (shot today!) one of my eldest daughter. I am not sure which of the two versions I prefer as my preference keeps shifting! but I think that the colour wins on this occasion. What do you think? C&C appreciated. Fuji X-Pro1 | X-E1 | X-T1 | XF14 | XF23 | XF27 | XF35 | XF56 | XF60 | XF10-24 | XF18-55 | XF55-200 | MCEX-11

Re: B&W or ColourI think a slightly de-saturated version so that it looks old and hand coloured might look pretty good. It's a charming image!

Re: B&W or ColourI can see why you oscillate. They are both excellent & each has its own strengths.
I would attempt to reduce the lip "gloss" in the B&W though. I find it somewhat off-putting. Greg

Re: B&W or ColourColour....it suits the shot more. The black and white is a tad too contrasty.

Re: B&W or ColourAnother vote for the colour version.
Very nice image, mum must be happy. Regards Colin

Re: B&W or ColourThe colour version is old fashioned and striking, but the BW has much going for it. The vignette may be a tad overdone but it's good nonetheless. I vote for the BW version.

Re: B&W or ColourGreat photo Geoff, your daughter is lovely, and you have captured
her very well. I prefer the colour version, the tones are excellent. Greg - - - - D200 etc

Re: B&W or ColourBoth of them are equally good, and it is a matter of preference. As far as I am concerned, I am for the colour one.
Re: B&W or ColourThis shot is good whether it be color, BW, desaturated etc etc
Get rid of the vignette though. Doesn't need it.
Re: B&W or ColourI'm with max, i seem to like the B&W although both good but i guess just my taste.

Re: B&W or ColourI have printed the colour version 'as is' to A4 size and it looks great. I will have a go at the suggested desat and removal of the vignette before I commit it to A2.
