Toowoon Bay way pre dawnWent down to Toowoon Bay on the central coast for a sunrise.
Got there a bit early! Liked this shot, what are your thoughts Thanks Waz http://www.flickr.com/photos/wazonthehill/ whizzzz, there goes life again.....

Re: Toowoon Bay way pre dawnI like the land/sea, but feel the sky lets it down. It is either too detailed (needs to be black) or too bland (needs to have more life in it) to work. Using this photo, I think it would be easier to render the sky darker, though I am sure there are PS hoons out there who will whip up a stormy/star spangled sky to drop in

It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: Toowoon Bay way pre dawn with Greg.
I would vote for more foreground detail either through lightpainting or combining exposures. How long was your exposure?
Re: Toowoon Bay way pre dawnI dont really know what to think of this one Waz, it is not as striking as some of the stuff you normally get.
A bit muted maybe? Regards Colin

Re: Toowoon Bay way pre dawnWell I'd like to go against the consensus on this one. I really like this. The subtle golden hues along with sufficient detail to make out the scene really give a strong sense of the impending dawn to me. I think printed large and framed this would be a cracker shot. It suffers as presented here merely because it's surrounded by all the light tones on the forum page.

Re: Toowoon Bay way pre dawnWell thanks for all the comments
I think what attracks this one to me is that it is relaxing, it just seems plain, simple, and peaceful. Maybe it is really telling me that work is really stressing me out at the moment! whizzzz, there goes life again.....

Re: Toowoon Bay way pre dawnThanks guys
I looked at this on my work system today, and oh it looks bloody terrible! It is dull, and completly dark on the right side with no detail in the rocks. A total throw away shot. at home it has great detail and i find in an interesting and peaceful shot What an amazing difference in the computer and screen! Waz whizzzz, there goes life again.....
