Picture of the Week 10 November 2009

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

Picture of the Week 10 November 2009

Postby Greg B on Tue Nov 10, 2009 5:28 pm

This week's PotW has been selected by Big V (Tony)......Image

Tony wrote: The PotW this week is by zafra52.

I like this shot because the shooter has tried to re create a scene and has placed his own style on it.
The interplay between the fork and its shadow is fantastic. Hopefully this will inspire others to get out
there and have a go at something so simple yet so effective.

Great choice Tony & well done Zafra,
Nice to see something we can all try and perhaps with patience and practice actually achieve - if only we had been creative enough to think of it

You've done well. But the original does look like it has more tonal range with the grey's rather than the harsh whites.

The original also has more dust bunnies :) than the homage.
It also has a more interesting use of DOF.

Thanks for the link Greg.

Thank all you very much for your kind words and observations. I am surprised and humble.
