Captured a recent wedding with my new D70, very happy with the result.

Everyone in this forum have to agree the 80-200 or 70-200 is perfect lens for wedding shoot! Forget about the 18-70 or other lens in the same league and dig up the 70-200VR or 80-200AF-D/ AF-S then you'll be in the game. Last edited by birddog114 on Fri Mar 04, 2005 1:47 pm, edited 1 time in total.

It is the way in which the out of focus elements are rendered...
imagine you are taking an image of an out of focus point source of light... The best result is a smootly varying circle (well somethinga-gon) that is bright in the centre and falls off it is pron Bokeh and is japanese for "mess" Good boke in images is smooth creamy out of focus areas, no sharp edges or weird effects New page

Excellent shot vince. The client would have trouble compaining about that one.
While I mostly agree with your birddog I would have to say that the 70-200 has a substantial edge on the 80-200 purley because of its VR capability. Often weddings are being shot in poor light and when you need to move fast you want to be handholding - thus the 3 odd extra stops you can get hand holding a VR lens at 2.8 is extremely valuable. All that being said I would only use my 70-200 20% max at a wedding - the rest is with the 17-55 and 85 1.8 Cheers, Craig

Yes, the 70-200 VR is on my wish list but cannot justified the extra cost at this point in time.
