NZ Panorama with Microsoft ICE

I recently downloaded Microsoft ICE, a free panorama stitching application from Microsoft, and I created a few test panoramas from my recent trip to New Zealand. I will showcase a few others over the next week or so.

For a free programme and also from Microsoft (albeit Microsoft research), it is actually pretty good and quite easy to use. It is available in both 32 and 64 bit versions.

I do recommend it if you want to get into the world of panoramas cheaply. It's not perfect, but it does do a satisfactory job of stitching slightly wonky images together. And it's free.

The following is a panorama made up of 16 separate images taken handheld in portrait position. Shot using Nikon D700 and 28-70mm at 28mm.

That is a very fine pano! Definitely has to be viewed large to appreciate it!

Great pano Steve,

love the fact that you have the plane in there, really makes the image. I would have liked to see the whole set of tracks for the plane but probably wasn't easy, but that's just minor.

Looking at the large version is great.
