Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Re: Old Railsvery nice work there...any chance of extracting a bit of colour and detail from that sky?
I like the way the rails lead you into the image and into the distance Cameron

Re: Old RailsAgree with cameron re clouds.
Maybe a BW conversion on this one? I feel that not enough of the rails have been captured. Slightly cramped if you know what I mean.
Re: Old Rails
BW conversion! a bit wider may have helped - but I am interested in seeing a contrasty BW version. gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Old RailsOK here is a B&W conversion which has brought out a little more detail in the sky. I am not 100% happy with the conversion as it is but when I have the time will have another go.

Re: Old RailsGeoff,
Beautiful conversion, and you have retained some wonderful fine details in this image: the grass, the rocks, the grain on the wooden sleepers .... Did you add the vignetting that I'm seeing here? I think I'd prefer this image without it. g.

Re: Old RailsHoly carp! Poetry in motion. This is a brilliant rework indeed. I even like the vignette but back off slightly on that perhaps as Gary suggests.
