Any more news on this lens? I was reading this where it talks of a seemingly widespread problem with the lens.
Where's the best place to buy one? Gary can you get it yet?
Or because it's new, could it be better to wait the 6 months (or more) it seems to take for Nikon to supply Australia to the point that retailers don't charge such a premium for the unobtainium element.
It's not a need as such, but the most reach I have at the moment is my 24-70 2.8, unless you count the 105 macro.

I have one sitting on the shelf here at work, and I have to admit that some of the pricing i have seen from Australian dealers on this lens is not greedy at all...the Nikon Australia price for this lens (to a retailer) is VERY HIGH. If someone is offering 3299 then it is a VERY good price as there is very little margin for the shop at that price.
