Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I have moved these to the correct section. I am the proud owner of a new 5D Mkii and put he machine through it's paces tonight at a niece's birthday party, in low-ish light with difficult subjects eg kids that won't keep still. I shot mainly at ISO 3200 and here's a few images. I am pretty impressed with the AF ability of this camera.

Hey Ozi,
I swear I have seen these images in another thread??

I am glad you are happy with the AF. Do you let the camera choose the AF point?

Yes, I had them in the Canon section but thought they belonged here instead, so I moved them.

I picked centre focus point only. I have read where the 5D AF is antiquated etc etc but I for one am very happy with it. I was only using the 24-105, and will be very interested to see how things go with the 70-200 2.8 with it's instantaneous focussing.

The first is a stand out for me.. its great.. the off centre composition and the way it shows you some of the background while not taking the focus off the foreground really makes you feel like I was there.. (and no I was not peeping through your windows!).. ;)

Btw you will adore the Canon 5D Mark II.. I bought it a few months ago and am soooo in love it I'm thinking about proposing..
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list... ;)

Thanks Bindii, I am just trying to learn how to use it. It is quite amazing not having to worry about flash any more (I sold my 580EXii along with the 10-22 to help fund the purchase).

I am helping to shoot an Indian wedding tomorrow at the local Seikh temple, and am looking forward to seeing lots of colours and culture through the lens.

I am actually relieved to hear someone say something good about the AF of the 5D. I am kinda sick of hearing bad reviews. I have only used one in a imaging expo so can't make a good judgement. I agree about the weight though, it felt like a brick indeed!

I am waiting for the 12 megapixel 60D with ISO 51000. No wait, Latest is that canon will release it at 21 megapixels making diffraction a problem even at f2.8; noise a problem at ISO 50.

Just kidding.

Actually I bet they will do something about these issues in the 5D replacement someday.
