POTW 5 Jan 2010

My turn for POTW this week and this time around I've chosen an image where I thought to myself "POTW material" the instant I saw it. There were a lot of great images oublished following it, yet when I reviewed the images posted over the last week (and I make sure I look at each and every one) I kept coming back to this one image.

Painting with light like this is a challenge for two reasons - first you need the concept and second you need to carry it off. This image by wink has both. Best of all for me is the wonderful 3D effect in the finished image - I see a sphere of light not a disc. Congratulations Adam on having taken the first Picture of the Week for 2010. I must say that when I first saw this picture I was thinking picture of the week too!! i loved the light you captured from the moon in the background lighting up the distant rise and fall in the land and the colors....all i think when i look at it now is WOW!! well done!!

After getting a camera and joining this forum in August i've learnt a lot!
Photography is something i've found i really enjoy and i'm looking forward to continuing my learning experience.
