POTW 5 Jan 2010

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

POTW 5 Jan 2010

Postby stubbsy on Tue Jan 05, 2010 9:31 pm

My turn for POTW this week and this time around I've chosen an image where I thought to myself "POTW material" the instant I saw it. There were a lot of great images oublished following it, yet when I reviewed the images posted over the last week (and I make sure I look at each and every one) I kept coming back to this one image.

Painting with light like this is a challenge for two reasons - first you need the concept and second you need to carry it off. This image by wink has both. Best of all for me is the wonderful 3D effect in the finished image - I see a sphere of light not a disc. Congratulations Adam on having taken the first Picture of the Week for 2010. The original post is HERE

Welldone Wink! Nice one Peter.

This sphere does retain an amazing 3D quality to it... Beautiful background as well.
