People under the waterfall (Lombok)Location: Lombok There is some debate in my household as to the merit of the motion blur in the couple Steve (Nikon D200/D700)

Re: People under the waterfall (Lombok)I like this picture. It is sharp, has lovely colours, and looks fun.
Re: People under the waterfall (Lombok)I like the scene, the people I think would work either sharp or blurred, however if they were not there it would not be the same.
Beautiful looking falls with plenty of water there! gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: People under the waterfall (Lombok)Nothing wrong with the image. The people give scale, the motion blur keeps your focus on the falls. Works best that way IMHO

Re: People under the waterfall (Lombok)this really isnt good enough
I think you should reshoot it, but next time include the people falling in motion
Re: People under the waterfall (Lombok)I like this image, but I am undecided about the motion in the people....sharper would be nicer, but also impossible I guess. Love the milky smooth water!

Re: People under the waterfall (Lombok)Willy
This is a beautiful, dynamic and powerful image all wrapped up in one! Your composition is perfect and the blurred human figures add both scale and mystery IE, Is the female figure topless or nude...let your mind run wild. The green foliage in the background is poster art beautiful and the misty water adds a spiritual element to the scene. Go to the top of the class! Regards

Re: People under the waterfall (Lombok)
That was my first thought as well. But wait; there's more. These figures not only add scale, they also look a tad unreal - almost as though they're action figures and as if this image might be a fake. It's not, but that's a part of the illusion that you've created. The saturation in the greens is perfect; this has a wonderful tropical feel to it. Great stuff. g.

Re: People under the waterfall (Lombok)I can't decide if i want the people sharp or not.
I think it would be cool, but on the other hand their motion fits with the water motion. It's a great image. Last edited by Wink on Wed Jan 06, 2010 11:37 am, edited 1 time in total.
Re: People under the waterfall (Lombok)I actually think having the people sharp would seem unnatural given the movement of the water. I love it just the way it is!
Re: People under the waterfall (Lombok)I think the image works perfectly with the people speed-blurred. The lovely silky smooth waterfall is sublime and as an image in itself works well. The people just add a bit more to make it even better.
