F1GP - Saturday's Practice and Qualifying

Postby kipper on Sat Mar 05, 2005 4:07 pm

Well spent another lovely day at the F1GP. Was suppose to be there at 8.30pm for the 9am Prac/Qualifying session but I was absolutely shattered lastnight getting home at about 11.30pm and then staying up for a while. So I ended up laying in. Good job to, because it rained something chronic. Hope you didn't get too wet Gary and Leigh :)

I didn't get there until 10.30am, just in time to watch the end of the morning session. Then we were treated to an F/A-18 Hornet display, and if you didn't know....it's an ALL WEATHER strike fighter. Yes the commentator felt he needed to tell us that every 10seconds, even though the plane was flying in terenchal rain.

After the planes went by, it started to rain again so we tried to take some cover. It stopped, we went back to where our stands were, got something to eat. Then went back to our seats, the afternoon session started and I took quite a lot of shots, then it bucketted down as Michael Schumacher came onto the circuit. At this stage I ran down to my bag, put the D70 and VR back into it's home and put the bags coat on and huddled up. We watched a bit more of the qualifying but decided to call it quits before everyone made the mad rush.

I've got a heap of shots from today. Think the lighting was a bit better when the clouds dispersed. I'll post a few when I get time.

No doubt your fast glass will have come into its own today in the sub-optimal light kipper. Looking forward to your shots. :)

Hope you're not too drenched, looked like a nasty day at times!
