Thought I'd brave the heat and venture out to shoot the Medibank Tennis at Homebush.....wasnt great conditions - hot hot and hot and bright harsh sunlight...at least it was good for fast shutter speeds!

Fantastic action images though.. so sharp I almost cut myself looking at them!.. and you've got the ball in every shot which I imagine is no mean feat!

thks Bindii.....it was my first time at the tennis and what surprised me the most was how camera captures facial expressions or body movements that you wouldnt normally pick up on through just viewing the gaming. Gasquet for example had a very weird left hand gesture in all the shots which I didnt see except in the photos and the girls I shot had some really weird muscle action going on........it was hard getting the ball in the shot but nothing 8fps couldnt handle! (and many more images deleted!!)
It was also my first sporting event where they were really adamant about limiting lenses to 200mm (and no monopods)......spoke to a couple of other togs who had to return their equipment to their cars as they had zooms which were 200mm+.

What lens were you using? the 70-300?
