Happy Australia Day everyone !!!!
I have to work, but at least it is running around the bush work.
Hope you all have a great day, and looking forward to some shots of this great place we call home :)
Hugs

Thanks, Rel. Same to you and to all others.

What a f***ing wonderful country we have. Let's not let the politicians screw it up.

I sulked all day.... well not sulked but I injured my foot so I was unable to get out and celebrate in the usual way - ie get sunburnt in some overcrowded place while eating too much junk food and drinking far too much alcohol... I'm not regretting my non celebrations today though! ;)

But you're right we do live in a wonderful country.. and we don't appreciate how lucky we are most of the time.. Happy Australia day! :)

I spent the day doing assessments for a course I've gotta do for work. Joy!!!

Ahhh, just another day I guess.

I spent it on the at Rottnest Island on a photography workshop with landscape photographer Christian Fletcher, landscape photographer and magazine editor Nick Rains, landscape/portrait photographer and photographic artist Tony Hewitt and underwater photographer Glen Cowans. After the workshop and a feed of oysters, duck, the obligatory lamb and a few Coronas we went onto the island for a wander around to shoot some pics. :violin:

As always I shot some crap photos (I'm at work and don't have any here to post) and as usual realised that I need bigger/newer/better/faster gear and more courses to improve my photography.

Sorry about all the links in this post - just wanted you to make sure you understood the ordinariness of my day!!!

Re: Happy Australia Day :) UPDATED (with quokka)!

Postby muzz on Thu Feb 04, 2010 12:10 am

Just thought I would post this image of a quokka that I took on Australia Day on Rottnest Island (off Perth - the only place they are found). They come in 2 main varieties - the first that live on concrete and ashphalt and scurry up to you trying to steal crumbs from your sausage roll, and the other kind that live almost exclusively behind small grassy tussocks and only come out when you change batteries, cards or delve in your camera bag!!

Pity I cut it's little tail off in this shot
