Dave, nice, shallow DOF images. I like the one of Thomas - very good eye contact. My only comment across all is that they appear a little warm.

David, your shots worked better than mine!

I would crop out the reflections in the first one (as you suggested yesterday when you took it) it just removes the distraction (although small).

I really like the last one. I didnt even notice that engraving, just the good coffee that the press? contributed to

That first shot is very nice, not only a good image but the coffee shot is near perfect on the nekkid portafilter (much harder than it looks), great timing also.

All the shots, as Patrick mentioned are very warm.

The shot of Tommy captures at great expression, however I feel it lacks the true representation of his bright blue eyes! maybe the adjustment in the colour temperature might bring them out?

...because it wasn't an espresso. We were attempting cupping and this was a cup of ground coffee in water.

See, that should be taken as a compliment - that the WB change only added 43% to otherwise great photos.

Sheesh. :biglaugh:

I recognize a Pullman tamper anywhere...
Have you seen his newer Barista tamper?
Are you on this site? (link is to my machine)

I like the way the coffee oozes out of the naked PF. The crop works better because your reflections are no longer definable as a photographer and a "spectacles on spectator".
They seem to have a strong magenta cast to me. Just me?

David, the first coffee shot is wonderful. I am drooling at a ristretto right now, I've been drinking Madura tea all morning, but I might just have to go and fire up the espresso machine for a nice Grinders...

Great image, even the elongated head reflection is kind of quirky.
