Underwater Case Rental. SA.Just have a quick question.
Does anyone know of somewhere to hire an underwater case to suit a D700 (would also need a flash) in SA. Ideally, close to Port Lincoln for shark diving. Anyone. Anyone. Bueller 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Re: Underwater Case Rental. SA.I think that will be a very tall ask. I'd say there's be a small number of housings for D700 in Australia owned by private people, let alone a company or other that would hire them out. Not that the D700 is uncommon, but it is relatively new and the housings are even newer. You may be able to hire and older camera with housing.
You'd probably be best contacting the dive operator you are going with and asking if they know of anyone. You could also try asking on Dive-Oz.
Re: Underwater Case Rental. SA.ATJ
if you cant find one,i have a euwa marine bag good for twenty metres, it fitted my 12-24 and 85 1.4 (cant remember the thread size ) so if your driving through whyalla on the way to lincoln call in, if you are staying the night here i have a granny flat out the back, your welcome to stay and have a chat cheers rob
Re: Underwater Case Rental. SA.Rob, is that the bag that drowned your d2x? Enough said.
Alan, another thing you have to worry about is the right port(s) for the lens(es) you want to use. Typically you use dome ports for wide angle and flat ports for macro, but the length of the port required depends on the length of the lens.
Re: Underwater Case Rental. SA.Having spoken with the guy I need to shoot diving with the great whites, I need to be in the cage with him ( ) , the cage will not be submerged completely. I guess that means I can float in the cage, and place the lens etc underwater. So perhaps an EWA kit might suffice. Might be a job for the D2h stunt cameras I think.
Anyone have experiences with EWA gear? 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Re: Underwater Case Rental. SA.That would be great mate. I can get a EWA kit from B&H for around the $400 mark.

Re: Underwater Case Rental. SA.
that wasnt the ewa bags fault, the plug that you let the air out/in was pulled out as it was getting washed around the rocks, i put my d200 in there when i got home and tested it and it was airtight, i would use it again.... especially for a shark cage where youre not very deep ( i plan to do this ) cheers rob
