Nothing spectacular - but niceComments welcome
Taken this evening as the sun was starting to go down. Manual Mode Kit lens. F8. 1/40th sec. AUTO WB +1.
Our minds must be working together Geoff - I saw the same clouds and would have taken a pic except for the fact my dinner was ready - nice pics BTW

Geoff,
I like the shots, especially the skyline: spray of crimson/blue light on my 'LCD' screen. Can I assume that it is warm, as I am sitting in my study/bedroom at home and almost freezing, sex change coming up . Also I can assume you got your modem/router problem sorted out at your new address. Dog is found and not leaving home anytime soon. I am woffling on again, so I'm going now...yep. Cheerio, fozzie
When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
I don't think sunset shots will ever go out of fashion
Great colour in the shots... Is it my imagination or is that a bit of noise in the sky? What was your ISO setting? Also, you seem to have quite a bit of tilting happening in that 2nd shot... Did you happen to have a beer break between shots? just kidding... Cheers, Stephen
Hi Stephen, Thanx for your comments. The noise - hmm..I didn't really see it , I shot it using ISO 200. The second shot, no alcohol today...I was just trying to eliminate the building from the shot. The shots were taken about 15 seconds apart! Cheers, Geoff.
Thanx Fozzie! Yep, it was really warm (but very humid too) in Sydney today! Yep...the dog is safe and happy as if nothing happened. The router problem was fixed when I took the (faulty) USB wireless adapter back and bought an internal card for the PC - a MUCH better solution. It turns out that there are/were quite a few problems with that netgear product. I returned it 9 days after purchase and they were most unhelpful and refused to give me my money back unless I was happy with 20% off the original purchase price - no thanx. So now I have a credit note for the shop (no it was definately not Harvey Norman). Thanx for your interest! Geoff.
Hi Geoff, i love the first shot, i think with the roof and buildings set it off really well.

Say it ain't so.Craig, et al -
I hope that the nasty air pollution rumor (rumour?) isn't true. One of the things that makes me terribly jealous about the pictures that I see from Australia are the amazing skies you have. You do not want to lose those. I live in Los Angeles County. Enough said.
Not every day, no. Socal Steve - we have our bad days of pollution here in Sydney, but I think they are far outweighed by good ones. We've had some gentle but steady winds the last few days which must improve the air quality somewhat. I will wait until I find some air polluotion shot and take a pic to show you, or would u prefer me not to so you have a better opinion of our lovely Sydney?
Gentle It’s been blowing dogs off chains at my place Chris

Just keep putting up those same great pictures that you have been sharing. It will keep me, the group and the tourist bureau happy.
I just hope that you folks can learn from our U.S. mistakes. It's much easier to prevent than to undo. I guess it actually takes dust, smoke or something in the air to make a great sunset though, doesn't it?! Cheers
