NEED HELP BADLY - 1ST BEAUTY / HAIR SHOOT COMINGHi all!
I've got my FIRST Major photoshoot coming up for Hantesis Australia ( hairdressing product importer), and i will be shooting models in a studio condition most likely. The thing is, I'm just as nervous as i am excited, was wondering ideas, needs to be creative and imaginative, now I personally REALLY REALLY REALLY like Wendell Teodoro's Electric Rain images, but don't want to be completely mimicking his efforts for uniquity. Any advice is really helpful as this is the kind of photography field i want to push myself into, as a fashion and beauty photographer, it's my dream and this is a really big opportunity i've jsut been thrown onto my plate. Thanking you all in advance as well, I really hope to hear from the fashion photographers and beauty photographers and ANY photographer for ideas and thoughts. Re: NEED HELP BADLY - 1ST BEAUTY / HAIR SHOOT COMING1st thing you can do is work out what the brief is
it's hard to advise on technique because this sort of thing is artistically subjective with commercial concerns right now i can advise you to look at the many fashion photoagencies www.2c.com.au www.dlm.com.au or go through the fashion hair mags and pick a style and see what sort of style you want t achieve before i can rally advise you on anything 2nd ting is to make sure you have the best team as doesnt matter how good the photography is if the tema lets you down you will end up with something substandard. team consists of model, hairstylist, model, makeup artist, assistant an stylist also since this is your first time it may be beneficial to work out your lighting on a manequin there are 3 main lighting styles for hair beauty shoots 1. is the standard editorial image where 1 beauty dish is used as a main light and the background is inconsequential 2. beauty dish and a mix of snoots for rim light and possibly an extra snoot to light up the hair this is a more complex setup and you have to use ratios and alot of practice to get what you need 3rd is just using 3 sets of grids it has the same effect as a snoot constraining the light. you would use one to light the models face, 2nd to light the hair and the third to light the background anyway because of time i cant really come on the shoot and show you unless you paid my consulting fee id be glad to help out welcome to the most wonderful journey Wendell Levi Teodoro

You're advice is valuable as this is my first shoot, even though its a work experience job, I'm actually getting there. ( well sorta) btw, how much is your consultation fees out of curiousity? I've had a look through your site and can't find much. Just for curiousity's sake. Cheers Canon | Sony | Panasonic | Tamron | Sigma

Dude that 's a $10,000 question. Good luck with this shoot by the way and congrats for securing it! We want to see your efforts.
Re: NEED HELP BADLY - 1ST BEAUTY / HAIR SHOOT COMINGJust relax...believe in yourself and do your best. Do a little research as suggested by Wendel and keep things simple. Don't try and be too tricky and it will go well.
