Hey guys,

Thought I would share some recent wedding images. Haven't really had a chance to do some personal photography projects. However I am going o/s next week so hopefully I can share some here when I get back!

Ooh, lovely.

As I'm currently hunting down a wedding tog at the moment, I've looked at a gazillion wedding websites and galleries. These would definitely put you on my shortlist!! I'm sure the bride and groom were extremely happy with them.
I'll try to be a bit nicer, if you try to be a bit smarter.

Absolutely stunning shots !! The movement of the veil and the intimacy of the bride and groom in #2 work perfectly. #1 is sharp where it matters, with such beautiful creamy tones. I love the lead in by the veil to the corner in #3. something about #4 doesn't do it for me. ..... but I can't figure out why :?
Photos like these make me wish I was getting married :)

Gorgeous photos mate, I'm a wee bit jealous as you've nailed all these IMO. Would love to hear a little about your processing / workflow . In the first three you've created a really intimate feel in 2&3 between the couple, and in 1 with just the bride. For me the 4th is the weakest as far as composition and impact is concerned, that said its still a great shot the couple will love.

Very keen to hear about the processing as I said partically with the first image, I'm interested if the blur is all shallow depth of field, or a result of some post as well.

I agree - I would love to know how to achieve that sort of effect whilst maintaining sharpness in the images. Is it an experience thing? Shutter speed?

Great work!!

Thanks for the C&C guys and Ladybird look forward to hearing from you :P

Regarding image 4, I agree that it is the weakest of the bunch. I love the movement however the reason, I believe that its weak, is that the sky is overblown and is just too bright and I think becomes to dominant of the image. I must remember to increase my aperture.

Regarding the lighting, its all natural light. I rarely use flash when doing weddings except when its called for eg bright sunny day for fill, dark churches and reception.

Regarding processing/workflow esp. image 2. I keep it extremely basic. I open the image first in Lightroom and do global adjustments such as WB, vibrance, curves etc etc. The image is then opened in Photoshop and I basically use a lot of selection with feathering and adjust using Levels. I basically darken and lighten parts of the image.
The motion blur you see on the veil, I got pretty lucky since on the day it was windy. I had a bridesmaid hold a part of the veil on the left and the rest blew. I then exaggerated the movement by adding a bit of motion blur.

As for image 1 I shot the bride using 85mm 1.2 @ f2. How I processed it is again very simple and I just used a lot selection and adjusting levels.

Hope that helps and any more questions, feel free to ask away :)
