This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Brilliant wendell, Can't really fault them. Beautiful balance of noise vs lack of blur.

Wendell - they are indeed gorgeous photos. They invoke the emotion of the dancers, and the beauty of their movement - the one of the gentleman in the foreground I find intriguing, and find myself flitting between the joy on his face and that of the ballerina in the background .. but do love the shot :) Only niggle I have with the last shot is the cut off point on the ballerina, but it is only a small niggle :)

I'm sure the company is absolutely thrilled with your shots !!!!

Do you know the work by Richard Calmes ?? He is a photographer from the US who takes the most amazing ballet shots - you might find his work interesting ?? Hopefully you'll love his work as much as I do :)

Looking forward to seeing more Wendell :), as always :)

thanks guys and gals
comments appreciated

Rel i checked out his work his got great setup shots especially the one with the ribbon/silk
thankyou for that

hopefully if i play my cards right the ballet company will let me do setup shots with some of the dancers
but it must be risky to be injured during a shoot may land the company in trouble, ill see how i go

your right about the cutoff point. I shot closer to the stage cuts of my full angle of view

next time ill shoot higher right at the back at 400mm
