Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

I took this picture two weeks ago with my compact camera.
I was in the opposite platform waiting for my train. I must
say my half-an-hour of waiting went quite very quickly...
This picture works also quite well in B&W, but I think the
colour gives and extra depth. What do you think?

I prefer the colour, but the B&W looks good as well.

hi,

Nice little shot of the compact!! i must say thats what i like about sydney is that you can be waiting for a train and looking at a view like that, and what an incredible view it is!

My opinion -which may not hold much value- is that i like the colour version, it seems to hold my attention longer, i kept going back to it, not sure if its giving it more depth or not, i just think its warmer and makes me want to be there more so then the black and white.

I prefer the colour as well. The shaded area of the image at the bottom is practically monochromatic anyway, and with the lack of features in the sky and solid grey of the bridge, the top has a mono feel as well even though it isn't. The band of more defined colour works nicely and keeps the eye scanning back and forth in the pic.

While I think the contrasty black and white is nice, it lacks something to hold me in.
