Settings for nightclubs/raves

Newer members often state that they think their question is too basic, or stupid, or whatever, to be posted. Nothing could be further further from the truth in any section at DSLRUsers.com, but especially here. Don't feel intimidated. The only stupid question is the one that remains unasked. Settings for nightclubs/raves

I know i have to use really high ISO, fast shutter speed and high f/stop. I got a 24-120mm and kit lens.

Do you think it is 'really' possible to take a great nightclub/rave shots? Having an ISO of 1600 and 3200 is a big difference right?

If you are not using flash you might find a 50 1.4 the most useful lens (after a 28 1.4 which is probably too expensive)

As glen wrote, get yourself a fast prime like the 50 f1.4. Otherwise you try experimenting with your flash eg- rear curtin sync or strobe (if you have a sb-800).

50/1.4 is the go....
Otherwise use flash!
