DSLRUsers Exhibition Finale

Postby biggerry on Sun Apr 11, 2010 10:44 pm

Alrighty, sorry for the belated Post, I did promise it yesterday, however I found myself chasing fish with a 13 yro....which to a 13yro is much more imporant than this :rotfl2:

following from the other posts

http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=38936
http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=38881
and
http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=38518

The Exhibition is winding up and its time to tally up the sales :cough: this should be pretty quick ..ahem.. whilst there was plenty of interest there where no sales, no mula..no cash-a-roonies. I think there are a couple of key factors here, alot of the foot traffic into the store is for the printing service hence there are lots of ooohhs and aahhs whilst waiting for service or prints however these people already had their purchase decision sorted. The other key factor is that you if you are an individual lookign to hang a picture in your home $275 is probably a bit on teh steep end, I say this mainly due to the comaprsions with say, the 2 dollar shop (of which there are a number in newtown) where one can get a cheap $50-$100, same size, framed Ken Duncan waterfall or whatever.

Anyway, as mentioned, the few times I dropped in and spent some time in the store everyone that came in had a good look at the images and had nothing but positive comments, which for me was encouraging. It was also very interesting to see peoples reactions to different types of images. Wendells image in the window brought plenty of punters in but also I think made a few think twice :rotfl2:

So, to finalise this all up we need to get these wonderful Canvas images from the shop to their respective owners.

Those picking the canvas prints up, can we try and get that finalised by the end of the business week (16/04/2010) if you cannot get there by then, no problem just make sure you PM me and we can work around it.

Those who have paid for postage, can you please send me a email and PM with your shipping details and I will endeavour to get these on the courier by the end of the week.

Have I forgotten anything?

Once again, thanks for everyone who participated and turned up for the opening night - and those who came along to the exibition over the last few weeks. I learnt alot and enjoyed the experience of seeing all these great pictures come together and get hung.

With a bit of luck we can do this as an annual thing - I may even volunteer next year

Well done Gerry and everyone who participated. Even though I didn't see these images in real life, they all looked great on the photos you posted. Wendell's looked especially interesting....

Gerry, huge thanks for organising. I am not 100% as to what I can organise to do with mine. So if Callan desperately needs the space back then can you take mine home with you and I will organise something? I will try to see if I can go to pick it up myself. Let me know if Callan needs it out ASAP.

Wow - missed the courier, so went to the depot and picked up the canvas ... it's BIG :)
Really happy with the quality of the print - this is my first ever canvas (well, first ever print of any of my photos bigger than A4 LOL), and am so stoked !!! Thank you Gerry & Callan- I'll order some more in the future :)
I hope you didn't send the wine with the print - if you did it didn't make it :(
If you didn't send it up - keep it and have a drink for me :)

Colin, I will pick yours up this weekend and it shall reside at my place until such time I head up ur way or vice versa.

thanks all, it was fun
