Sometimes you get luckywhen you keep chasing the sun....
I visited the Merewether baths (Newcastle) before the daylight savings shaninagans came into force. One could cruise in at 06:40 and still catch the good light. Gone are those days at the moment. Incidently the low cloud cover caused two sunrises..... For you C & C as usual. Thanks for taking the time to look. Cliched view from the edge of the pool Pool getting replenished with water Pump station - purple cast due to cheep cokin clone from ebay! This salt water pool is meant to be one of the largest around...
Re: Sometimes you get lucky....... nice series, good exposures, colour and composition..... 3 & 4 would be my pick but all good....
I am yet to shoot in this area. Just waiting for the sun to get up a little later...... Cheers ....bp....

Re: Sometimes you get luckyLove them, it is great to see your photos Surenj. I like the purple of #3 (who said that cast on the Cokin-Clone couldnt be advantageous?)

Re: Sometimes you get lucky
Thanks BP. I like this area because even at sunrise, there are people about. No issues on security. Also, people always come and say hi and are usually curious to have a look at the shots. Expect to see a few photogs hanging about though...This seems to be popular (and Cliched)
Thanks Cameron. Sometimes the purple becomes a bit too much. Anywhoo I have managed to put some substantial scratches on the filter so in the market for a color neutral 3 stop ND grad.
Thanks Wendell. That particular morning was as beautiful as the pictures show. I have boosted colors slightly though. For anyone visiting Newcastle. This is a must visit place for a swim during the warmer months. On this particulr morning the water seemed to be warmer than the air!!!
Re: Sometimes you get luckyI like them all for the same reasons mentioned in the previous comments.
I would like to add a comment about the Cokin "clone". I bought original Cokin GND filters when I first started and got rid of them (gave them to a member of the forum) because there were not neutral in colour... same reddish hue. Cheers, Gerard
Re: Sometimes you get luckySuren, that last one is a cracker, it needs to be cropped, ie have the bottom 1/3rd removed. As a pano style with that bird I reckon it will be a stunner. Great stuff getting out there early in the morning.

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Sometimes you get luckyYou have done a great job taking and processing these. well done

Re: Sometimes you get luckyThey're great. I would clone the island from behind #2 blocks if possible. The colour is sublime in these. Well done.

Re: Sometimes you get luckyWell worth the early morning. colours are nice and subtle, water movement suits the location. Nicely done.

Re: Sometimes you get lucky
Hmm..That is not encouraging. I might investigate this further. I don't really want to splash out on Singh rays or anything for my use. Maybe Hitech...
Thanks for you suggestion Gerry. Here it is.... We should definitely visit when you are around this area...
Thanks Bob.
Thanks Ozi. It was very tempting but I resisted. I was expecting more suggestions to do this actually. I was initially hoping that the tone and mood of the photo would distract the viewer away from that island (Which I imagine would be not visible in high tide.... Hmm... Maybe another visit is in order?)
Thanks BigV. Wishing I had ISO 25 to try and push the shutter spped down a bit... A stronger ND needs to be acquired.
Re: Sometimes you get lucky
yeah love this crop, floats my boat.. I love the processing on #2, somethign different and really makes the image, compositionally I feel i woudl liek to see it a bit wider or a bit tighter.. I find I get draw to two parts of the image, the first is the rail and sign, the second is the sky, I guess what I am trying to say is maybe try and isolate the main focus, in this case probably the sign. Anyway food for thought - still a great image and you got me jealous I love the first image, great classic use of lines and a kickass sun to boot. The horizon needs to be straightened and there a few dust bunnies - buts all i can pick at
coming up shortly, will schedule an extra day on teh trip back down methinks gerry's photography journey
